Sunderland in contact with Premier League as last-gasp deal hangs in the balance
Sunderland are still waiting to announce more deadline day deals.
A summer of change is slowly coming to an end for Sunderland, who made history with the money spent on new transfers.
Brian Brobbey to Sunderland is believed to be a done deal, while the arrival of Lutsharel Geertruida has now been officially announced via social media.
However, the Black Cats are not done there as contact has been made with the Premier League to secure one more late, late transfer.

Bertrand Traore deal hangs in the balance at Sunderland
The addition of a winger was a must this summer, and that was only amplified with news that Patrick Roberts is leaving Sundelrand to join Birmingham on loan.
In the final hour of the window, Sunderland made an approach to sign former Villa star Bertrand Traore, and according to journalist Lucas Weening on X, a deal sheet has been submitted.
That allows the Black Cats until 9pm to finalise the deal, though the announcement could come at any time over the next 24 hours.
Traore had an excellent campaign at Ajax last season, though the Dutch giants were keen to move him on this summer in fear of losing him for nothing this time next year.
The 29-year-old has spent time at Aston Villa and Villarreal, and at 29 years old, will provide yet another injection of experience into a youthful Sunderland side, if the deal goes through.
What other deals are awaiting Sunderland confirmation?
Brobbey is understood to be finalised, just waiting for an announcement from Sunderland.
Niall Huggins’ loan move to Wycombe has just been announced, while Dutch defender Jenson Seelt has finalised a move to Wolfsburg for the remainder of the season.
Nazariy Rusyn looked set for a Sunderland exit earlier on deadline day, though that move has gone eerily silent since.
However, as showcased in previous transfer windows, the Black Cats may have other deals in the pipeline, though it will almost certainly only concern outgoings.
Abdoullah Ba, Timothee Pembele, Milan Aleksic and several others had also been mooted for exits this summer, though as things stand, it is looking like they will remain on Wearside.
With 9pm rapidly approaching, an update on Traore is expected, so as the saying goes, don’t go to bed just yet…
